The idea of riding as a cure and rejuvenation of the soul dates back to ancient Greece. First Xenophon referred to Therapeutic Equestrianism in his book “On Equestrian Art”. While Hippocrates reports that riding in the fresh air strengthens the muscles and keeps them in good condition.
Therapeutic Equestrian is applied to children from two years old and gives a solid foundation development in the three areas of human existence. It develops the body, the soul and the mind.
Therapeutic Riding helps in the development of cognitive and sensory functions. Riding children learn to play, to dialogue, to think structured. They learn how to ride, how to groom, how to reward and to love horses. They develop a sense of responsibility, respect and confidence in the horse and themselves.
