Crete is a privileged region in terms of olive oil wine production. It has a direct connection with the daily life of the population. Almost every village has one or more olive mills where small and large producers grind, bottle or sell their produce in bulk.
In this tour we will visit two traditional villages and we will meet two of these family
businesses that produce wine and oil. They will show you how to grow olives and grapes, how they are harvested and how you prepare them as you will have the opportunity to try and buy these traditional products.
Your adventure in tradition will continue with your visit to the oldest olive tree that dates back to about 5000 years.
We will continue our journey to see one of the most beautiful Byzantine monuments of Crete Church of "Archangel Michael" where in its courtyard was housed a Byzantine cemetery dating back 7 centuries.
Finally we will enjoy our meal in a traditional tavern to try traditional Cretan cuisine.
